Basilica of Santa Maria della Salute
The basilica was built by Baldassare Longhena and is made of stone and marmorino. Is located in Venice. The Count of Mantua took the black death to Venice, and he was interned on the island Lazzaretto Vecchio. There he came into contact with a carpenter and the infection spread throughout the city. On March 22, 1630, Giovanni Tiepolo made a promise: "I solemnly promise to erect a church in this city and dedicate it to the Virgin Mary, calling it 'Santa Maria della Salute'."
Temple of Kukulkan
The temple was built by the Maya and is made of stone. Is located on the Yucatan Peninsula. It was built by the Itza Maya in its capital, the pre-Hispanic city of Chichen Itza. In this construction, cult was surrendered to Mayan god Kukulkan (Feathered Serpent), that's why there are serpentine motifs in architectural decoration.
